Intensive Outpatient Program in Colorado

Spero Recovery now offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) located at 3092 Evergreen Parkway in Evergreen, Colorado, just down the road from our residential facility for men. The IOP is designed for those who have completed residential treatment and need ongoing support in their recovery journey.  Our intensive outpatient program is through Spero Behavioral Health. We understand the importance of continuing care for individuals in recovery, especially those managing both substance use and mental health disorders.

Our IOP is specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of men and women 18 years and older, providing them with a structured, supportive environment to maintain their progress while transitioning back to everyday life.

Our IOP in Evergreen serves as an extended care solution, allowing clients to remain engaged in their recovery process without the need for inpatient residency. With a focus on dual diagnosis treatment, this program is essential for those managing both addiction and mental health conditions. We work closely with each individual to ensure they continue to receive the care, support, and therapy they need to succeed in their long-term recovery.

What Our IOP Provides

At Spero Behavioral Health you can expect the same great care that our residents receive in our inpatient program at Spero Recovery.

Continued Treatment

At Spero Behavioral Health, we understand that recovery doesn’t end when someone leaves a residential treatment program. That’s why our IOP offers ongoing support and care to help clients sustain the progress they’ve made. Our program provides evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and other approaches designed to address both addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. We tailor treatment plans to the needs of each individual, ensuring that they receive the most effective care to maintain their sobriety and mental wellness.

Our continued treatment approach includes individual therapy sessions, group counseling, and family therapy, all of which are essential in helping clients rebuild their lives post-treatment. By remaining engaged in therapy, our clients are better equipped to cope with daily stressors, triggers, and challenges that may arise during their recovery journey.

Holistic Care

In addition to traditional therapy, we believe in a holistic approach to treatment. At Spero Behavioral Health, we focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit. This means offering therapies that promote overall well-being, such as mindfulness practices, yoga, nutrition counseling, and fitness programs. These holistic treatments help our clients develop a healthier lifestyle, reducing the risk of relapse and improving their overall quality of life.

Holistic care is especially important for those managing co-occurring mental health conditions, as it helps create a balance between mental, emotional, and physical health. Our clients learn how to manage stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges in healthier ways, leading to better outcomes in both their recovery and their mental health management.

Community

One of the most important aspects of recovery is building and maintaining a supportive community. At Spero Behavioral Health, we foster a sense of belonging among our clients, creating a space where they can share their experiences, learn from one another, and support each other’s recovery journeys. Our group therapy sessions allow clients to connect with peers who understand the challenges they face, providing both emotional support and accountability.

The community aspect of our IOP is vital for long-term success. Many clients form lasting friendships and support networks through their time in the program, which can be a key factor in preventing relapse and maintaining sobriety. Recovery can feel isolating at times, but with a strong community, individuals are reminded that they are not alone in their journey. Spero Recovery’s alumni program provides life-long support available to everyone in our recovery family.

What is Intensive Outpatient Care?

An intensive outpatient program is a structured treatment program that offers the flexibility of outpatient treatment with the concentrated support of an inpatient program. IOPs provide mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Patients can come for day or evening treatment at the facility and return to their own homes each day.

Participants in an IOP typically engage in individual, group, or family therapy sessions, allowing for personalized care and the involvement of loved ones in the healing process. IOPs also include psychoeducation, offering essential information about mental health disorders and substance use to help clients better understand their condition. In small group settings, participants can develop skills such as emotional regulation, social awareness, and self-awareness. Therapists utilize evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to address both mental health and substance use challenges, providing effective strategies for lasting recovery.

What We Treat

Our IOP is designed to address a wide range of mental health conditions that often co-occur with addiction. By treating both the addiction and the underlying mental health disorders, we help our clients achieve more sustainable, long-term recovery. The conditions we treat include:

Individuals with ADHD often struggle with impulse control and focus, which can complicate addiction recovery. Our program helps clients manage these symptoms while also addressing substance use.

Anxiety disorders often coexist with substance use disorders, as individuals may use drugs or alcohol to cope with their symptoms. We provide therapies that help clients manage anxiety in healthier ways.

BPD can make emotional regulation and relationships difficult. Our therapy programs help clients develop healthier coping mechanisms and relationship skills.

Those with bipolar disorder experience extreme mood swings, which can contribute to substance use. We offer treatment plans that address both the mood disorder and addiction.

Depression is a common co-occurring disorder in those with addiction. We provide therapy that focuses on managing depressive symptoms while supporting the individual’s recovery efforts.

OCD can drive compulsive behaviors, which may include substance use. Our therapies help clients manage obsessive thoughts and behaviors while staying committed to recovery.

Individuals with schizophrenia often need specialized care to manage their symptoms alongside their recovery from substance use. Our team is experienced in providing the dual support needed for both conditions.

Many individuals with addiction also have a history of trauma, which can lead to PTSD. Our trauma-informed care ensures that clients receive the support they need to heal from both trauma and addiction.

Relapse Prevention Planning With Spero

Relapse is a common part of the recovery process, but it doesn’t have to derail the progress someone has made. At Spero, we understand that preventing relapse is crucial to achieving lasting sobriety. This is why we focus on creating personalized relapse prevention plans for each client, using our unique Spero Relapse Prevention Planning Template. By building a solid plan, clients are better prepared to navigate the challenges of everyday life and avoid returning to harmful behaviors.

Our relapse prevention planning goes beyond simply avoiding triggers. It addresses the underlying mental health issues that contribute to substance use, providing a holistic approach to recovery. With support from our mental health treatment programs, clients learn how to manage their emotional health and maintain their sobriety long-term.

How To Pay for IOP

At Spero Behavioral Health, we strive to make our IOP accessible to as many people as possible. We accept a variety of payment options to ensure clients can get the care they need without financial stress. Our program accepts out-of-network insurance as well as Colorado Medicaid, allowing individuals with diverse financial backgrounds to receive high-quality care.

For those with out-of-network insurance, we work with clients to help them understand their benefits and coverage options. We can assist with the claims process, making it as seamless as possible. For individuals on Colorado Medicaid, our program is fully accessible, ensuring that even those with limited financial means can continue their treatment.

We believe that financial concerns should never be a barrier to receiving the necessary care for addiction and mental health recovery. If you are unsure of your coverage or need assistance with payment options, our admissions team is here to help you navigate the process.
