What is a Sober Living?
Sober living is a residential environment where individuals recovering from addiction to alcohol and drugs can live in community with like-minded housemates. To that end, the residence is alcohol and drug free and each house member participates in its upkeep and operation. As housemates, they support each other in recovery and hold each other accountable in attending to daily chores and obligations. Learn more about Spero Recovery Sober Living.
Where is Spero Recovery Sober Living?
Spero Recovery Sober Living is located in the Denver Metro cities of Arvada, Aurora, Lakewood, and Littleton.
What are the Requirements to Be Accepted?
Other than the desire to recover from addiction and a willingness to be a part of a community of like minded individuals, you only need to NOT be high or drunk at your intake.
Spero Recovery Sober Living does not take sexual offenders and convicted arsonists.
Spero Recovery Sober Living will consider individuals with violent felonies and domestic violence charges on a case by case basis. Please call us to discuss your case.
How Much Does it Cost?
Spero Recovery Sober Living charges a weekly occupancy fee which ranges from $200-$250 per week, depending on the residence you enter. In addition, there is a one-time entry processing fee of $100. So, the day you enter Spero Recovery Sober Living you will owe between $300 and $350, again depending on the residence you enter.
What Does the Occupancy Fee Cover?
The occupancy fee covers the use of a bed, the common areas and kitchen, all utilities, cable TV and Wi-Fi.
Am I Expected to Attend AA or Other Meetings?
Yes. You are expected to attend three recovery meetings per week. This can include any type of 12-Step program or other commonly known recovery meetings.
How Long Can I Stay?
There is no minimum stay at Spero Recovery Sober Living. We have had residents stay as little as two weeks and as long as 2 years.
What do I Need to Bring?
You should bring clothing, toiletries and food. See How it Works for the supplies that Spero Recovery Sober Living will provide free of charge.
Do I Need Permission to Leave?
If you are in general compliance with Spero Recovery Sober Living rules you can come and go as you please without needing to get permission or tell someone where you are going.
Can I Have Visitors?
Yes. You can have visitors between the hours of 10am and 10pm, but subject to change depending on the residence you are in.
Am I Expected to Work?
Yes. You are expected to have a full time job within three weeks of arriving at Spero Recovery Sober Living.
