Initial Phone Screening
All clients are required to complete a brief screening interview over the phone with our admissions team. Phone screenings help us evaluate potential clients for a variety of factors. All admissions must be approved by our admissions staff as well as our executive or clinical director.
Please note: We do not accept walk-in clients.
Insurance & Payment Information
Spero Recovery is committed to providing affordable, accessible and effective treatment for those with substance use disorders.
As a leader in affordable recovery, Spero is considered a Medicaid alternative and currently does not accept any private or government-sponsored health insurance plans. This allows us to provide recovery services to individuals, regardless of their insurance coverage.
Much of our programming is funded through grants and donations, which allow us to remain one of the most affordable, high quality programs in the nation.

Community Referrals
We are committed to ensuring that all individuals are provided with an appropriate level of care and will make referrals to trusted behavioral health specialists as needed. Here are some examples of cases that may require a community referral.
- Detox: Spero Recovery does not provide detox services. Individuals who have not completed detox or may be at risk of withdrawal will need to complete a social or medical detox, seek medical clearance before entering the program or be referred to community partners.
- Other conditions: Individuals who exhibit acute mental health concerns, suicide ideation, aggressive behaviors, or have a history violent or sexual offenses are not eligible for admission to Spero Recovery and will be referred to a more appropriate level of care.
